11:25 pm - Lisa Brescia?

fiyero3305
Does anyone have any promotional photos of Lisa Brescia as Amneris? I know there used to be a gorgeous one of her and Adam Pascal outside of the theater.

Any production photos of her would be great too, please help!

10:06 pm - question

wagrobanite
Does anybody know if there a thing for Aida similar to the RENT bible? I know there is the book about the making of Aida on amazon but what specifically i'm looking for is the Liberatto. If there is such a thing, would you kinda point me in the direction on where I could get it?

Hello all,

I want to perform My Strongest Suit for an audition, but I need the background music for it so if anyone has it that they can send to me or know where I can find it, I'd be very thankful.

Thanks in advance,
♥Jessi

7:26 pm - AIDA - Elaborate Lives - Broadway

peterpandanyc

There are many videos of this show. I encourage you to look for them on YouTube. You could practically see the whole show in this manner... I deleted all my other posts because people were complaining. Look for them yourself.

In order to view the video, I think you have to be viewing the comments on this thread or on the LJ Aida page itself, not your own Friends page.

Hey guys! I managed to (very crappily) record two of the songs from Aida from you. No, not the Bway version, the Fox Valley Youth Theatre version. Ages range from freshman in high school to freshman in college.

Keep in mind, the dvd wouldn't play in my compy, the format was weird. So I put it on my tv and put my microphone up to the speaker. Hence, you'll have to turn your volume up pretty loud, but you can hear everything when you do.

Its a .zip file of Dance of the Robe and The Gods Love Nubia. To explain some of the noises... in Dance Of The Robe we had two guys on tribal drums and part of the dance we all were on our knees and slapped at the floor, so you'll hear that. And in The Gods Love Nubia, the crazy vocal solo at the end is my friend Carolyn- and she's not wearing a mic! She was incredible, although if you stood next to her you couldn't hear yourself- I made the mistake of doing that once during curtain call(we all broke out into the end of The Gods Love Nubia after our bows)

Tell me what you think :) We worked really hard on the show.

12:22 pm - AIDA
lvaorchcell AIDA is actually my all time favorite even though I love RENT too. Last time I saw it was I think in 2003. I saw it twice in that same year in New York. The first time I saw it was with the original cast and the second time was with a new cast with Tony Braxton. The original cast was the best. My favorite song is the letter. Every now and then I start singing it or writing it down. AIDA was my first musical and it will always be close to me.

Hi, im new...
So i saw Aida in New York two springs ago. i really liked it, but it kinda died away in the face of other things. But then i was looking for the Wicked soundtrack at the local library and instead found Aida, which totally rocked. since then ive got my own copy of the soundtrack, checked out numerous books involving Aida, etc. etc. and I found the ticket and this group while searching Interests and i suppose you can fit in the rest...

I just bought the coolest thing for my room.

When I moved, I decided to go with a broadway theme. I have poster and playbills from my favorite shows and shows I've seen. Well, I went on eBay to buy a new decoration. I found a play bill signed by the orginal cast. 26 bucks later, I'm looking at Heather's and Adam's autographs. It's really sweet. I just thought I'd brag about my cool new thing. I have to it framed now, because it might be worth something to some collector. LIKE ME!

Hey,

I've never seen Aida, as much as I would like to. It's the only Disney Musical I haven't seen. Does anyone know of any performances in either the Colorado or Arizona area? I would love to finally see it. Thanks for your help!

7:06 pm - Aida at Gateway

dramaqueen00018
Well, I saw a production of Aida on Friday and it was absolutely amazing!!! I love the character of Amneris even more now! Oh, I want to play her... But anyway, Aida had an amazing voice and all of the dancing just blew me away. I spent so much time listening to the music that visually, I was just so surprised at how good the show was. I have to say though that the best character/actor in it was the guy who played Zoser. He was just sooooo evil. Not only that, he looked the part and just epitimized (can't spell) that character. I've got to say that "Another Pyramid" was my biggest surprise at how good it was. The dancing was so fitting and awesome and the lights blended so well and made it look soooo awesome and OMG the whole thing was just sooo good. My only regret is that I didn't see it on Broadway with either Adam Pascal (so hot) or Idina Menzel (so talented) or any of the other great people. Well thats it for now. Bye!

Hey, I'm new to this community, but of course I've loved Aida forever! I'm going to see a production of it Friday at the Gateway Playhouse and I know it's gonna be great!! I mean, you have to have an amazing voice to be in it, so I have high expectations. Oh, I only wish I could be in it.....
